Jose Mourinho could clash with Man United chiefs about summer signings – report
Jose Mourinho could be on a collision course with Manchester United about summer signings, say reports
Jose Mourinho could be on a collision course with Manchester United’s board ahead of the summer transfer window, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils boss has called on the club to give him yet more financial backing in the forthcoming transfer window as he looks to assemble a team capable of winning the Premier League title next season.
However, Manchester United have already spent big since Mourinho’s appointment at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils having spent as much as £300m since his arrival in May 2016.
According to the same story, the difference in opinions between Manchester United’s board and their manager could lead to tensions as the summer transfer window draws nearer.
The Red Devils will be expected to spend big this summer as they look to try and build a team who can challenge Manchester City’s dominance of the Premier League next season.
The same report says that Paris Saint-Germain could be poised to capitalise if there is any escalation in the reported discord between Mourinho and the Red Devils.
Manchester United were dumped out of the Champions League on Tuesday night following a shock loss to Sevilla, leaving Mourinho’s men playing for just the FA Cup and a top four finish this term.
