Man United ‘privately confident’ of signing top 28-year-old – report
Manchester United remain privately confident of signing Nemanja Matic this summer despite pursuing other midfield options, say reports

Manchester United remain “privately confident” of completing a deal to sign Nemanja Matic from Chelsea this summer, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils have so far failed in their attempts to land the Serbian midfielder because Chelsea are unwilling to let him go before concluding a deal to bring Tiemoue Bakayoko to Stamford Bridge from Monaco.
The same report states that Manchester United have also expressed an interest in signing Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier.
The article also says Manchester United are now considering a move for Borussia Dortmund and Germany midfielder Julian Weigl after having so far failed in their pursuits of Matic and Dier.
Manchester United will be hoping to complete any new signings before they jet off to the United States for their pre-season tour on Sunday.
The Red Devils are preparing for a return to the Champions League next season after Mourinho led the Red Devils to Europa League glory last term in his first campaign at the club.
