Man United aren't interested in paying £50m for Newcastle star Sean Longstaff, according to a report
Manchester United may be forced to pull out of a deal to sign Sean Longstaff due to Newcastle’s lavish asking price, according to a report in England.
ESPN is reporting that the Red Devils have been quoted £50m for the the 21-year-old Newcastle youth product by the Magpies in the current transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United are willing to pay around £20m for Longstaff but the 20-time English champions have no intention of meeting Newcastle’s price tag.
According to the same report, Manchester United’s chief negotiator Matt Judge met with Newcastle’s managing director Lee Charnley but the two parties are a long way apart in negotiations.
ESPN go on to reveal that Newcastle want to receive the same transfer fee that Manchester United paid for Crystal Palace full-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
Manchester United signed Wales international Daniel James in a £15m deal from Championship outfit Swansea City at the start of the summer.
The Red Devils continued their trend of buying British talent earlier this month when Manchester United signed England Under-21 international Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal from Crystal Palace.
Manchester United have been linked with a host of players in the summer transfer window but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has only got two deals over the line so far.
