Ray Parlour has tipped Manchester United to spend big on new signings in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have made some progress under Jose Mourinho this term following a sixth-placed finish last term.
Manchester United are challenging Liverpool FC to finish in second place behind runaway leaders Manchester City.
The 20-time English champions have signed seven players since Mourinho’s appointment as Louis van Gaal’s successor in 2016.
The Red Devils managed to see off competition from Manchester City for the signature of Alexis Sanchez in January.
However, the Chile international hasn’t been able to close the gap on Premier League leaders Manchester City.
Former Arsenal star Parlour believes Manchester United will spend heavily in the summer in an attempt to further close the gap at the top of the table.
“Man United will go big in the market in the summer,” Parlour told Sky Sports. “Jose will demand money.”
Manchester United haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
The Red Devils lifted the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
The 20-time English champions will take on Sevilla in the second leg of their Champions League last-16 clash next week.
