Daily Record reporter Ian McGarry doesn't believe Manchester United will sell Paul Pogba this summer
Paul Pogba won’t leave Manchester United in the summer transfer window, according to Daily Record journalist Ian McGarry.
The 25-year-old completed a lucrative return to the Red Devils in an £89m deal from Serie A champions Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
The France international was one of Serie A’s best midfielders during his four-season spell in Turin after blossoming into a world-class player under Massimilano Allegri.
The 25-year-old, though, has been unable to replicate his Juventus form in the Manchester United side to prompt criticism from his outspoken manager Jose Mourinho.
His promising start to the 2017-18 season was cut short after Pogba suffered a serious knee problem to keep him sidelined for three months.
Mourinho was critical of Pogba’s lack of discipline in the middle of the park alongside Nemanja Matic and the versatile midfielder didn’t start Manchester United’s round of 16 clash at Sevilla.
Pogba has enjoyed a brilliant summer after the Manchester United star helped France to win the World Cup, including a goal in a 4-2 win over Croatia in the final.
FC Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid have all been linked with a potential move to sign Manchester United’s record acquisition.
Daily Record reporter McGarry doesn’t envisage Pogba leaving Manchester United before the close of the summer transfer window.
“I don’t expect him to leave before the end of the summer transfer window,” McGarry told the Transfer Window podcast. “It is the worst case scenario for both parties.”
