Sergio Ramos sends Man United message to Paul Pogba
Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos says the Spanish club would welcome Man United star Paul Pogba to The Bernabeu
Sergio Ramos has reignited transfer speculation linking Paul Pogba with a move to Real Madrid by speaking of his admiration for the Manchester United midfielder.
Pogba was linked with a potential move to the La Liga giants throughout the summer transfer window but a deal failed to materialise despite Zinedine Zidane’s apparent interest.
The Manchester United star openly admitted in the media that he was ready for a fresh challenge following a particularly frustrating 2018-19 Premier League season.
However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has managed to retain Pogba’s services for now, despite Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola claiming that he was negotiating a move for the Frenchman.
Pogba has started all four of Manchester United’s Premier League games, but the club-record signing has underwhelmed so far as the Red Devils managed to record just one win.
The France star was criticised for his penalty miss in a 1-1 draw at Wolverhampton Wanderers after Pogba assumed spot-kick duties ahead of Marcus Rashford.
Asked whether Real Madrid would welcome Pogba at The Bernabeu, Ramos is quoted as saying by the Daily Express:
“I think Real Madrid always has the door open for good players such as him.
“For me, Pogba is one of the great players. He is different and he has shown his value at Juventus and now Manchester United.
“I think he brings balance to a team. He has a great offensive influence and he has this amazing physique.”
Manchester United signed Pogba in an £89m deal from Serie A side Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Pogba has won the Europa League and the League Cup since re-signing for the Red Devils in 2016.
