BBC Sport is reporting that the Red Devils have been forced to cut short negotiations with the South American forward due to his lavish wage demands.
The same article states that Manchester United were in negotiations with Dybala as part of a proposed swap deal involving Romelu Lukaku.
According to the same story, the 20-time English champions had doubts about whether Dybala really wanted to join Manchester United.
The BBC Sport report went on to add that the Red Devils felt Dybala’s contract demands were overly excessive during the negotiation process.
The report continues that Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is only looking to sign “young, hungry players” this summer.
Dybala certainly would have been the type of marquee signing up front that Manchester United supporters have been demanding in recent weeks.
Lukaku’s future at Manchester United continues to be a source of relentless debate in the British media with the Serie A transfer window not yet to close until 23 August.
The Red Devils will start the Premier League season with a home clash against Lukaku’s former club Chelsea FC at Old Trafford on Sunday 11 August.
Manchester United finished in sixth spot last term.
