Manchester United sent scouts to watch Brescia midfielder Sandro Tonali perform against Juventus in Serie A on Tuesday night, according to a report in Italy.

Italian media outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, as quoted by the Daily Mail, is reporting that the Red Devils had scouts at Juve’s narrow 2-1 victory over Brescia.

The same article states that the Italy Under-21 international has been described as the “next Andrea Pirlo” and that the 20-time English champions have been alerted following his fine performances in Serie B last term.

According to the same story, Tonali is also attracting interest from Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund as well as reigning Serie A champions Juventus.

Tonali completed 21 of his attempted 31 passes and touched the ball 47 times during Brescia’s 2-1 loss to the Italian champions at Stadio Mario Rigamonti.

The Brescia starlet also completed three successful dribbles, won one tackle and won one aerial duel during an all-action display by the reported Man United target.

Tonali came up against a former Premier League midfielder in the shape of Aaron Ramsey, who swapped Arsenal for Juventus in the summer transfer window.

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 loss to West Ham United at the London Stadium on Sunday to plunge their season into a mini crisis after six games.
