Man United will sign 21-year-old on one condition – report
Man United will struggle to sign Sean Longstaff if Rafael Benitez remains in charge of Newcastle United, according to a report

Manchester United will only sign Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff if Rafael Benitez remains in charge at St James’ Park, according to a report in England.
Newcastle Chronicle is reporting that Benitez has control over any deals involving incoming and outgoing transfers, which would make Man United signing Longstaff difficult.
The same article states that there’s uncertainty surrounding Benitez’s future at Newcastle given the Spanish manager’s deal is set to expire during the summer.
According to the same story, Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified Newcastle prospect Longstaff as a potential signing in the current transfer window.
The report goes on to say that the 20-time English champions haven’t made an official offer for the 21-year-old talent despite their interest in Longstaff.
Manchester United coach Michael Carrick is thought to be a big admirer of the Newcastle youth graduate and the retired midfielder has recommended Longstaff to Solskjaer.
The Red Devils are thought to be eager to sign homegrown talent in the summer transfer window in an attempt to revamp their squad ahead of the new season.
Manchester United lost 2-0 to relegated Cardiff City in their final game of the Premier League season to miss out on a place in the top four.
