Manchester United are interested in Lazio’s promising midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to a report in England.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils have a strong interest in the 23-year-old midfielder ahead of the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Manchester United chief scout Roland Janssen has highlighted Milinkovic-Savic as a potential player to bolster Jose Mourinho’s midfield options.
According to the same story, Janssen first spotted the Lazio midfielder when he was playing for Serbia at the age of 18 before a move to Racing Genk.
The attacking midfielder has established himself as one of Serie A’s top midfielders during his three and a half seasons at Lazio following a move from the Belgian club in 2015.
Milinkovic-Savic has scored nine goals and has made two assists in 25 appearances in Serie A this season, while he has netted twice and created one goal in five Europa League games.
Manchester United are in the market to sign a new midfielder to ease the workload on club record signing Paul Pogba.
The Red Devils will take on Liverpool FC in their top of the table clash at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday evening.
