Sky Sports News reporter gives Man United transfer update on 29-year-old
Manchester United are reluctant to meet Tottenham Hotspur's asking price for Toby Alderweireld, according to reporter Dharmesh Sheth

Manchester United have been put off by Tottenham Hotspur’s asking price for Toby Alderweireld, reporter Dharmesh Sheth has claimed.
The Red Devils have been linked with a swoop to sign a centre-half in the current transfer market ahead of the new Premier League season.
Manchester United are thought to be interested in a swoop to sign the Belgium international in the current transfer window to bolster their defence.
Alderweireld is one of the top centre-halves in the Premier League over the past few seasons following his move from Atletico Madrid.
The 29-year-old is set to become a free agent at the end of the 2018-19 season unless Spurs decide to activate a clause in his contract.
Spurs have the option to extend Alderweireld’s deal by an extra 12 months but the Belgian centre-half will be available to sign for £25m.
However, Manchester United have been linked with other defensive targets in recent weeks to suggest a move for Alderweirled won’t happen.
Sky Sports News reporter Sheth believes Spurs have priced Manchester United out of a deal to sign Tottenham centre-half.
Sheth told Transfer Talk podcast: “They were after Alderwerield at the start of the window but they have been put off by his asking price.”
Manchester United finished in second spot in the Premier League table last term to secure a place in the Champions League.
The Red Devils won the Europa League and the League Cup in Mourinho’s first season in charge at Old Trafford.
