Victor Lindelof reacts to reports Man United want to sign Harry Maguire
Victor Lindelof endorses Manchester United's reported pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire

Victor Lindelof has given his support to Manchester United’s reported pursuit of Leicester City defender Harry Maguire.
The Red Devils have been linked with a potential swoop to sign the England international from Leicester throughout most of the summer transfer window.
Manchester United were thought to have moved into pole position in the race to sign Maguire after Manchester City’s £60m bid was rejected.
The 20-time English champions are rumoured to be ready to make Maguire the world’s most-expensive defender ahead of the new Premier League season.
In doing so, Manchester United’s offer would surpass the £75m fee that Liverpool FC spent on Netherlands international Virgil van Dijk last year.
Lindelof is adamant that he would welcome the potential arrival of Maguire from Leicester this summer – despite him already being one of six centre-halves at Old Trafford as things stand.
“I like the competition,” Lindelof told ESPN FC, as quoted by Metro. “I love it, actually.
“I think it’s great for a club to have that competition. If you have good players in your position you have to work hard every day, especially in training, and that helps a team to go to the next level as well.
“For me it’s perfect. I like it. I think everyone at this club wants to be at the highest level.
“I’m very good friends with them all. In training we compete and then off the pitch we are friends. That’s how it should be.”
Manchester United are in urgent need of reinforcements at centre-half in the summer transfer window ahead of their first full Premier League season under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Eric Bailly suffered a serious-looking knee injury during Manchester United’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in their pre-season friendly on Thursday.
Solskjaer has strengthened at right-back this summer after Manchester United signed England Under-21 international Aaron Wan-Bissaka in a £50m deal from Crystal Palace earlier this summer.
Manchester United finished in sixth spot in the Premier League last term.
