Pat Nevin claims Chelsea FC star could move to Man United
The Chelsea FC legend believes Willian could move to Manchester United
Pat Nevin believes Chelsea FC star Willian could end up at Manchester United next season.
The Blues forward has fallen out with Chelsea FC manager Antonio Conte in recent weeks after being out of favour in recent weeks.
Willian has struggled to hold down a regular spot in Conte’s team since the Italian head coach’s appointment back in 2016.
The South American was a key component of the Chelsea FC team that won the Premier League and the League Cup under Jose Mourinho.
Unsurprisingly, Willian has been regularly linked with a move to Manchester United since the Portuguese head coach took over the reins.
The 29-year-old caused controversy when he obscured Antonio Conte from his Instagram photo depicting Chelsea FC celebrating their FA Cup success last weekend.
Former Blues winger Nevin admitted that Willian’s proposed move to the Red Devils isn’t inconceivable.
“I can see Willian as a Man United player under Mourinho,” Nevin told Irish radio station Newstalk.
“Although he is a tricky player, he can be direct and do the right things. If there is a rift and Antonio Conte stays, that’s the obvious place for him to go.”
Willian has won two Premier League titles, the FA Cup and the League Cup over the past five seasons at Chelsea FC.
The Blues finished in fifth place in the Premier League table to miss out on the Champions League for the second time in three seasons.
