Manchester United are leading the race to sign Chelsea FC forward Willian after FC Barcelona signed Bordeaux attacker Malcom, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet Sport, as quoted by The Daily Mirror, is reporting that FC Barcelona tested the west London side’s resolve with three bids to sign Willian but Chelsea FC refused to sell the South American.
The same article states that La Liga champions have managed to beat AS Roma to the signing of Malcom to end their interest in Chelsea FC’s Brazil international.
According to the same story, Willian will now look to move to Manchester United after being previously linked with a move to FC Barcelona earlier this summer.
The Daily Mirror adds that Jose Mourinho is eager to add more signings to his squad this summer following a relatively quiet summer compared to their title rivals.
Manchester United have signed Brazil international Fred in a £52m deal from Ukrainian Premier League champions Shakhtar Donetsk in the summer transfer window.
The Red Devils have also brought in Portuguese defender Diogo Dalot in a £17m switch from FC Porto to improve Mourinho’s full-back options ahead of the new season.
Lee Grant completed a surprise switch to Manchester United from Stoke City.
