Manchester United have taken promising Colombian teenager Wilson Tilve on trial, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mail is reporting that the Red Devils have handed the 16-year-old midfielder a trial at the club last month as he bids to earn a contract.
Tilve, according to the same report, is dubbed as the ‘new James Rodriguez’ and will have hoped to have done enough to have impressed officials at Carrington in the coming weeks.
The same story says that Tilve, who currently plays for Club Atletico Colombia de Cartagena, spent five days on trial with the Red Devils last week.
The article reports that the teenager plays in a number 10 role and has been likened to Colombia star Rodriguez in terms of his style of play.
Meanwhile, Manchester United are currently preparing for their Premier League trip to Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.
The Red Devils returned to winning ways in the top flight last weekend with a 2-0 victory over Huddersfield at Old Trafford.
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table and 13 points behind leaders Manchester City.
Jose Mourinho’s men will take on Spanish side Sevilla in the last 16 of the Champions League later this month.
