Manchester United are actively pursuing FC Barcelona and Colombia defender Yerry Mina, reporter Duncan Castles has claimed.
The Red Devils are being forced to look at alternative options to improve their defence ahead of the new Premier League season.
Manchester United have been left frustrating in their protracted pursuit of Belgium star Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur.
Mina has been linked with a move to Manchester United’s rivals Everton following his impressive performances at the World Cup.
The Colombia international scored in their loss to England in the World Cup round of 16 to force extra time and penalties.
Sunday Times reporter Castles confirmed that Manchester United are interested in a deal to sign the 23-year-old.
“Another target being actively pursued is Yerry Mina,” Castles told the Transfer Window podcast.
“FC Barcelona need to sell. Everton, Southampton, Wolves and Lyon have all made enquiries.
“The figure being talked about is £45m. Man United have scouted him for a long time.”
Mourinho has signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and veteran England goalkeeper Lee Grant.
