Manchester United are interested in a deal to sign Colombia defender Yerry Mine from FC Barcelona, according to a report in Spain

Manchester United are set to step up interest in FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mine as an alternative option to Harry Maguire, according to a report in England.
Spanish media outlet Sport, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that Manchester United are looking at the possibility of signing the Colombia international from FC Barcelona given Leicester City’s reluctance to sell Maguire.
The same article states that the England international is Jose Mourinho’s number one option to improve his Manchester United defence following the 25-year-old’s impressive World Cup campaign.
According to the same story, Manchester United will make a £35m bid to sign the South American defender in an attempt to improve their rearguard before transfer deadline day.
Mina has also been attracting interest from Manchester United’s Premier League rivals Everton as new manager Marco Silva looks to improve the Toffees backline.
Manchester United have only managed to sign three players in the summer transfer window so far to leave the Red Devils looking short on squad depth ahead of the new campaign.
The 20-time English champions have signed Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Fred, FC Porto defender Diogo Dalot and Stoke City’s veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant this summer.
