Graham Hunter: Real Madrid boss ‘determined’ to sign Man United star
La Liga expert Graham Hunter explains Zinedine Zidane wants to bring Man United star Paul Pogba to Real Madrid

Zinedine Zidane is desperate to bring Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba to Real Madrid this summer, according to La Liga expert Graham Hunter.
The France international’s future has been a source of relentless debate in the summer transfer window after a difficult 2018-19 season at Old Trafford.
Zidane has already signed Eden Hazard, Luka Jovic, Rodrygo and Eder Militao in a bid to close the gap between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.
However, the Real Madrid manager’s top target this summer is Pogba rather than the players that los Blancos have already recruited.
The 26-year-old has dropped a number of hints that he’d like a new challenge, but Manchester United are thought to be reluctant to sell.
La Liga expert Hunter believes Zidane is still eager to sign Pogba and the transfer saga will rumble on until the start of the Premier League season.
“Zidane is determined [to sign Pogba],” Hunter told Sky Sports’ Transfer Talk podcast.
“[Pogba was] Zidane’s number one priority, ahead of even Hazard, who’s a player that he admires, even ahead of Jovic, who adds goals, even ahead of [Eder] Militao, who joined as a centre-half from Porto, Rodrygo, who was on the books already but has only come now.
“There have been a number of players that have been brought in, [Ferland] Mendy from Lyon at left-back was somebody Zidane was insisting on.
“But at the top of Zidane’s wish list was Pogba, nobody should be in any doubt about that.
“And therefore at the moment, they’re in Canada as we speak, and Florentino is trying to say to his coach: ‘It looks like we’re not getting our man, it looks like Pogba is going to be difficult’.
“Now, Zidane’s not accepting that. So there are two sides to the story.”
Manchester United have signed Swansea City midfielder Daniel James and Crystal Palace defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka in the summer transfer window so far.
The Red Devils haven’t won the Premier League title since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won his final top-flight crown of his decorated 25-year reign at Old Trafford.
Manchester United finished in sixth spot behind Chelsea FC, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal last season.
