Criag Burley believes Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would be a better Manchester United signing than Alvaro Morata
Craig Burley has suggested that Manchester United consider signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of Alvaro Morata.
The Red Devils have already been linked with a host of different strikers in the summer transfer window.
Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann was seemingly their top target before a deal fell through after los Rojiblancos were handed a transfer ban and the Frenchman committed to the club.
In recent weeks, Real Madrid and Spain striker Alvaro Morata has emerged as a first-choice option, while Torino forward Andrea Belotti is reported to be their back up option.
However, Borussia Dortmund striker Aubameyang is is available in a £63m deal after the Gabon international signalled his intent to leave the German club.
The African star has a prolific record in the Bundesliga over the past four seasons, while Morata spent most of the 2016/17 season coming off the bench.
Speaking to ESPN FC about Aubameyang, former Chelsea defender Burley suggested that the Dortmund star would add more natural pace to the Manchester United side than Morata.
“One of the criticisms of Manchester United was Zlatan was a little slow,” Burley said. “Aubameyang has all the pace. I’d take him right now.”
Manchester United finished in fifth place in the Premier League table last season, but secured a place in the Champions League thanks to winning the Europa League.
