Mark Lawrenson is backing Arsenal and Manchester United to share the spoils at Old Trafford on Monday night.

The Gunners will be eager to lay down a marker in the top-four race with a commanding victory over an out-of-sorts Manchester United team.

Arsenal have won their last three games in all competitions, including a narrow 3-2 win over Aston Villa in the top flight last weekend.

Unai Emery’s side are in fourth place and three points ahead of Manchester United after six Premier League games.

The Red Devils suffered a 2-0 loss to West Ham United in the Premier League last weekend to lose for the second time this season.

In fact, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have only managed to win two of their opening six Premier League fixtures.

Former Liverpool FC defender Lawrenson believes that Arsenal will leave Old Trafford with a point after a 1-1 draw with the Red Devils on Monday night.

“The Gunners are turning into the comeback kings, although I am sure they would prefer not to be in a situation where they need a fightback in the first place,” Lawrenson told BBC Sport.

“Unlike United, Arsenal do not look short of goals, but it is at the back where Unai Emery’s side still have problems.”

Manchester United finished in sixth spot in the Premier League table last term and a place behind Emery’s Arsenal side.

The Gunners have shown promise under the Spanish head coach but their poor defending continues to undermines their promising attack.

Arsenal were 5-0 winners against Nottingham Forest in the League Cup third round in mid-week, while Manchester United requited penalties to beat League Two side Rochdale.
