Paul Merson states his prediction for Man United v Brighton in FA Cup
Paul Merson looks ahead to Manchester United's clash with Brighton in the FA Cup on Saturday

Paul Merson is backing Manchester United to secure their place in the FA Cup semi-finals with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday night.
The Red Devils head into the game on the back of their disappointing 2-1 loss to Sevilla in the Champions League on Tuesday night as they were dumped out of Europe’s elite club competition at the last 16 stage.
Jose Mourinho will be keen for his side to put behind them that disappointment as they look to try and progress in the FA Cup, which is now their last remaining hope of a trophy this season.
And former Arsenal star Merson cannot envisage the Red Devils having any problems when they come up against Brighton in the last eight on Saturday at Old Trafford.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Merson said: “Manchester United have to win this game after their disappointing Champions League exit.
“Brighton are not completely safe from relegation but they are close, so they will be able to have a go at United. But with their chances of silverware hinging on this competition, I have to go with United.”
Manchester United are currently in second place in the Premier League table after their 2-1 victory over Liverpool FC at Old Trafford last weekend.
The Red Devils are aiming to at least finish in the top four this season after the disappointment of their sixth placed finish in the top flight in Mourinho’s first campaign in charge last term.
Manchester United have not won the Premier League since their famous final triumph under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.
