Michael Owen is backing Manchester United and Chelsea FC to play out a draw at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Sunday.

The Red Devils will welcome fourth-placed Chelsea FC to Old Trafford knowing that a win would move them level on points with Maurizio Sarri’s side.

Manchester United suffered a 2-0 loss to defending champions Manchester City in the derby at Old Trafford on Wednesday night after goals from Bernardo Silva and Leroy Sane.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have lost seven of their last nine games in all competitions to heap pressure on Manchester United.

Chelsea FC are winless in their last two Premier League games following a 2-0 loss to Liverpool FC before a 0-0 draw with Burnley at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

Former Liverpool FC striker Owen is tipping Manchester United and Chelsea FC to share the spoils in a draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday evening.

“After a mini revival under new management, United are struggling and have conceded nine times without reply in their last three games in all competitions,” Owen told BetVictor.

“They are three points behind Chelsea who occupy fourth position and realistically will need to win to have any hopes of catching them. The Pensioners missed a chance on Monday when held 2-2 by Burnley at Stamford Bridge and may well take the view avoiding defeat is their best option.

“With both low on confidence, a point each looks quite likely and keeps both managers reasonably happy.”

Chelsea FC managed to rescue a 2-2 draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in a bad-tempered game in October.

The Red Devils were 2-0 winners against Sarri’s side in the FA Cup fifth round at Stamford Bridge in February.

Chelsea have lost six of their seven Premier League fixtures on the road against teams in the top half of the table this season.
