Virgil van Dijk sends blunt message to Man United ahead of Man City clash
Liverpool FC star Virgil van Dijk urges Man United to themselves a favour and beat Man City on Wednesday night

Virgil van Dijk has urged Manchester United to do themselves a favour by beating Manchester City in the derby clash at Old Trafford on Wednesday night.
The Red Devils suffered a humiliating 4-0 loss to Everton at Goodison Park at the weekend to suffer their heaviest Premier League defeat since October 2016.
Manchester United have lost their last five games on the road in all competitions, while the Red Devils have succumbed to defeat in seven of their last nine fixtures.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side still have a shot at finishing in the top four this season after Arsenal, Chelsea FC and Tottenham Hotspur dropped points at the weekend.
Manchester City will hoist themselves above Premier League leaders Liverpool FC if Pep Guardiola’s side manage to beat their bitter rivals on Wednesday night.
The Citizens were narrow 1-0 winners against Tottenham at The Etihad on Saturday after Spurs knocked Manchester City out of the Champions League last week.
Asked during an interview whether Liverpool FC needed Manchester United to do them a favour in the title race, Van Dijk is quoted as saying by Metro:
“They need to do themselves a favour. Everton is not easy to beat at home, but 4-0 is a big result.
“We have no influence on that, but they are still playing for Champions League football and they need to get a result.”
Liverpool FC are looking to win their first ever Premier League title this season.
Manchester United haven’t lifted the trophy since 2013 when Sir Alex Ferguson won the league for a 13th time.
