Manchester United will not sell Paul Pogba to Real Madrid after the English transfer window closes on 8 August, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Mirror is reporting that the Red Devils will not consider any offers from the Spanish club after that date as they look to reduce the impact the speculation about Pogba’s future is having at Old Trafford.
The same story says that the Red Devils are “refusing to budge” on their stance that the Spanish giants will have to shell out a huge £150m transfer fee to sign Pogba this summer.
La Liga clubs have until 2 September to buy new players this summer, but the English transfer window for signing new recruits closes before the new season begins on 8 August.
English clubs can still sell players to foreign clubs after that date, but Manchester United have reportedly decided not to do any business involving Pogba after the season has begun.
According to the same story, Real Madrid remain strongly interested in Pogba and they are hopeful that they will be able to get Manchester United down to a figure closer to their £100m valuation of the 26-year-old World Cup winner.
Pogba’s future has been a relentless source of speculation this summer after he indicated in an interview that he may be open to a move away from Old Trafford.
