Manchester United

David de Gea Brilliant performance from the United stopper at key periods in the game, including a superb double save midway through the second half. 8/10

Rafael An improved night from the Brazilian. The full-back bombed up the wing well at times to give his side another dimension. 6

Phil Jones Looked comfortable and made a vital clearance in the last ten minutes to prevent the visitors scoring. 6

Rio Ferdinand Lacked pace but made up for it with his positioning throughout the night. 5

Patrice Evra Played solidly and almost made it 2-0 but for a fine save from Roberto. 5

Antonio Valencia Showed bravery to go in for a challenge which made him suffer an eye injury and struggled thereafter. 5

Michael Carrick Passed neatly as always and was a key player in United’s possession game on a rare night of glory for the club this season. 6

Ryan Giggs Fine ball to set up Rooney for a header in the first half and gave the side some much needed composure. 6

Danny Welbeck Despite having a poor touch at times, he made some good runs and did well to get at the Olympiakos back-line. 5

Wayne Rooney Was unfortunate to hit the post with a header in the first half but should have scored when he blazed over in the closing stages. 6

Robin van Persie (Man-of-the-match) Showed just why he is the man to change United’s fortunes with a fine hat-trick, of which begun with his brilliant control before winning the penalty. 9

Ivan Marcano Was solid in the early stages but like several of his team-mates, began to fade out of the game as it wore on. 5

Leandro Salino Looked a frustrated figure and was booked for kicking ball away, though he did well to set up Fuster for a big chance. 5

Delvin N’Dinga Energetic performance but did not put his authority on the game. 5

Hernan Perez Should have scored in the opening stages to possibly put the tie beyond doubt but could not find the desired finish. 4

David Fuster Saw his header well saved from de Gea when 1-0 down and was again denied midway through the second half after a firm strike. 6

Joel Campbell Another impressive performance from the on-loan Arsenal star. He displayed nifty passing in key areas and clever footwork around the box. 6

Alejandro Dominguez Got in several key positions but did not have a killer instinct, failing to get the better of de Gea. 5

Substitutes

Haedo Valdez Looked solid but was out-run far too much. 5
