But the United coach has taken heart from their recent 1-0 win against the Gunners, and Neville reckons the Red Devils just need to remain in touching distance of the pace-setters heading into the new year.
“We beat Arsenal at Old Trafford not long ago. We set a marker there that we are still challenging. We’ve had our tussles with Arsenal over the years but we’ve got a big squad, a strong squad,” Neville is quoted as saying by Daily Mail.
“I think we’re hitting peak form at the moment. The players are determined, they’re showing unbelievable determination to win football games, we’re on a good run.
“It’s Christmas time, medals aren’t handed out at the moment. We need to be in touching distance, we need to get into that top four – and we can attack the second half of the season.”
