Man United boost as Bayern confirm Pep Guardiola exit
Pep Guardiola has confirmed that he will leave Bayern Munich next summer, paving the way for a move to the Premier League
Pep Guardiola will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season and be replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, the Bundesliga club confirmed on Sunday.
Speculation surrounding the Spaniard’s future has been rife in recent days as he continues to be linked with a move to the Premier League.
We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club
Manchester United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been credited with an interest in appointing the former Barcelona boss as their next manager.
Now, it seems that Guardiola could well be on his way to the Premier League next summer after Bayern confirmed his imminent exit from the club at the end of the current campaign.
Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confirmed the news on Sunday, thanking Guardiola for his work with the team.
Rummenigge told Bild: “We are thankful to Guardiola for all he gave our club and hope to celebrate more success in the current season.
“With Ancelotti we have another very successful coach coming to Bayern. We are looking forward to working together.”
On Saturday, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand urged the Red Devils to seriously consider sacking Louis van Gaal and replacing him with Guardiola.
Guardiola has guided Bayern to successive Bundesliga titles in the last two season.
