Man United defender Phil Jones hails ‘incredible’ Robin van Persie
Manchester United defender Phil Jones hails Robin van Persie's "incredible" impact since moving to Old Trafford from Arsenal

Phil Jones has hailed Manchester United’s “incredible” Robin van Persie after the Dutch striker netted his 12th Premier League goal of the campaign on Saturday.
The 28-year-old was on hand to finish in typically clinical fashion and break the deadlock as the Red Devils went on to secure a 3-1 victory over Sunderland at Old Trafford.
It took Van Persie’s tally to 15 goals in 21 appearances after completing a £24m switch from Arsenal in the summer.
“Robin has been incredible since he joined. He’s a fantastic player,” Jones told MUTV.
“He went straight into the firing line after he arrived and has scored a lot of goals.
“And he’s such a nice lad off the field as well, so it’s great to have him here.”
United defender Chris Smalling has also been encouraged by Van Persie’s growing understanding with Wayne Rooney, with the Red Devils winning all 12 games which the duo have started together.
“He only came here in the summer and didn’t have much of a pre-season so it was a case of just getting straight into the games, but you can see in every match he plays that he’s such a threat and he puts teams on the back foot,” said Smalling.
“His understanding with Wayne [Rooney] is growing all the time.”
