Manchester United winger Ashley Young admits the Red Devils must produce "big performances" every week

Ashley Young admits Manchester United have to produce “big performances” every week after the Red Devils ended their recent losing run.
The defending Premier League champions edged to a 2-0 victory over Cardiff City at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, with Robin van Persie and Young scoring for the home side.

United are currently six points behind fourth-placed Liverpool, and Young is being kept on his toes amid increased competition for places following Juan Mata’s £37.1m move.
“You have to be on the ball,” Young told PA Sport. “You have to put in big performances every week.
“We have a big squad and we can rotate the team. When you are playing well, getting goals and assists, you are there in the manager’s thoughts.
“We have competition for places and that keeps you on your toes. You want to keep playing well and training well, because that is the only way to keep yourself in the team.”
Young, who joined United from Aston Villa in 2011, has scored two goals in 17 Premier League appearances for the Red Devils this season.
