Man United transfers: David Moyes insists that the Red Devils are "always thinking" about possible new recruits

David Moyes insists that Manchester United are “always thinking” about possible new recruits in the forthcoming transfer window.
The Red Devils have been linked with a host of players over the last few weeks following United’s stuttering start to life under Moyes.
Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera and Everton left-back Leighton Baines are among the names to have been linked with January switches to Old Trafford.
And Moyes insists that the defending Premier League champions are constantly working hard on potential deals behind the scenes.
“The club’s always thinking about strengthening,” said Moyes.
“In every transfer window you always think about strengthening. So if we can do that, we’ll try and make it happen.”
Moyes’ United head into Saturday’s clash with Newcastle United a staggering 12 points behind league leaders Arsenal following a 1-0 defeat by Everton in their last outing.
But the Scot, who took over from Sir Alex Ferguson in the summer, insists that there were positives to be taken from the game despite the result.
“It was my first defeat in 13 games and I hope we can [go on a similar run] in the coming games,” said Moyes.
“There were chances in the game [against Everton] which we didn’t take. The result could have quite easily been very different. So unless you’re someone who doesn’t understand the game too much, I think you would have seen that.
“I don’t think we were that bad that I needed them to turn around and show me a big response.
“We’ve got a game very quickly. We have good players here that have been here before and know what’s expected of them. They’ll do the right things.”
