Juan Mata is to undergo a medical with Manchester United on Thursday after Chelsea accepted a bid in the region of £37m for the Spanish playmaker, according to reports.
The 25-year-old is expected to sign a four-and-a-half year contract with the Red Devils and said goodbye to team-mates and staff at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Wednesday, BBC Sport is reporting.

Mata is set for a huge pay rise at Old Trafford, with United reportedly ready to double the midfielder’s wages from £70,000 a week to £140,000.
The signing would come as a huge boost for United, who find themselves down in seventh place in the Premier League table and 14 points behind leaders Arsenal.
United were beaten by Swansea in the FA Cup and were dumped out of the League Cup by relegation-threatened Sunderland on Wednesday.
Mata, who has been restricted to just 11 Premier League starts under new boss Jose Mourinho this season, did not train with Chelsea on Wednesday.
The Spain international’s medical is due to take place at Manchester’s Bridgewater Hospital on Thursday.
