Man United transfers: Napoli captain Marek Hamsik reiterates his desire to remain at the Naples outfit
Marek Hamsik insists he still believes Napoli are on the path to success amid reports of interest from Manchester United.
The Slovakia international has regularly attracted interest from the Premier League since rising to prominence at the Naples outfit in recent seasons.
Hamsik scored seven goals and made nine assists in 37 appearances for Napoli despite picking up a serious toe injury in the middle of the campaign.
And the 26-year-old reiterated his desire to continue to work under current manager Rafael Benitez after lifting the Coppa Italia earlier this month.
“I’ve always said that I believe in this project, I still want to grow and win with Napoli,” Hamsik told Goal.com.
“I am here seven years will continue in the future. I want to repay the faith of the people .”
Hamsik added: “It is a new path with a new coach and many other players. It was important to win the first year.”
On his injury problems this season, Hamsik added: “It was the first serious injury of my career, injuries affecting the performance but I want to give more.”
