Man United transfers: Jones delighted to see Rooney back in action
Phil Jones expresses his delight at seeing Wayne Rooney return to action in Manchester United's victory at Swansea City

Phil Jones has expressed his delight at seeing Wayne Rooney return to action as Manchester United ran out 4-1 winners at Swansea City on Saturday.
The 27-year-old’s future remains a constant source of speculation as he continues to be linked with a big-money move to Chelsea.
Rooney, who has already been the subject of two bids from the Blues, played the final 30 minutes and set up two goals as United kicked off their campaign with an impressive win in South Wales.
And Jones was thrilled to see the England international get some game-time after he was forced to miss the whole of United’s pre-season tour due to a string of injuries.
“He is a fantastic player and he did well when he came on. The reception [from the United fans] was great when he came on but you’ll have to ask him [whether he was surprised by it].
“He came on and did the job. He did well. The manager and all the lads are pleased.”
Speaking after Saturday’s win, Moyes said Rooney is still lacking match sharpness, despite also featuring for England in last weeks 3-2 win over Scotland.
“He’s not ready yet physically because he’s not done enough training and obviously that hasn’t changed much except for him getting a bit more match practice,” said Moyes.
“But he came on and made a great run for Robin’s goal and played Danny in for his goal, so it will be good to get those minutes on the pitch.”
