Man United transfers: Sporting Lisbon open to William Carvalho exit
Man United transfers: Sporting Lisbon aren't panicking about speculation linking William Carvalho with a move to Old Trafford

Sporting Lisbon are open to selling Manchester United target William Carvalho, according to the club’s sporting director.
The Portugal international is reportedly a target for United manager Louis van Gaal, who has also been linked with Juventus duo Paul Pogba and Arturo Vidal.

Carvalho, 22, scored four goals and made eight assists in 29 top-flight appearances last season, emerging as one of the key members of the Lisbon side.
The Red Devils have already signed Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera, but Van Gaal is expected to partner the Spaniard with a creative spark to complete his midfield face-lift.
And Lisbon sporting director Augusto Inácio isn’t worried by reports Carvalho could leave the Portuguese club for the 20-time English champions.
“It’s not like the old days when players left Sporting at any price,” Ignacio told Lisbon’s TV channel.
“We are not concerned with William Carvalho because we have alternatives, who will want to play as well. The termination clause ensures a great deal to Sporting. I am very pleased with the negotiations.”
Carvalho has made six appearances for Portugal and was part of Paulo Bento’s World Cup squad which crashed out at the group stage.
