Man United’s David Moyes: Patrice Evra is a great dressing room influence
Manchester United's David Moyes insists Patrice Evra is a great dressing room influence amid the defender's spat Bixente Lizarazu
David Moyes has insisted Manchester United defender Patrice Evra is a “great” dressing room influence.
The Red Devils left-back has become embroiled in a public row with Bixente Lizarazu after Evra hit out at the France legend’s criticism of the United man on French television.
When asked about the 32-year-old at his media conference ahead of tonight’s Real Sociedad clash, Moyes praised Evra’s attitude since the Scot moved to Old Trafford this summer.
“I don’t know how you see Patrice in France but in Manchester we have a very high opinion of him,” Moyes is quoted by L’Equipe.
“He has been a great figure in the dressing room since I have been at the club.”
Earlier this week, Evra hinted he could leave the Red Devils at the end of the season when his contract expires amid reports of interest from France.
“No, not at all,” Evra told Telefoot.
“It is a personal thing. It is not that Manchester United do not want me to sign a new contract.
“Manchester United would like me to finish my career there, but this is something personal.”
