David Moyes singled out Wayne Rooney for special praise after another stellar display by the Manchester United striker in Sunday’s 2-2 draw at Tottenham.
Rooney, who has been United’s standout performer this term, scored both of his side’s goals as they twice came from behind to seal a point at White Hart Lane.
The 28-year-old striker has earned plenty of praise already this season and was named man of the match after a top display in north London.
And Moyes believes that the England international deserves credit for his professional attitude this season after a summer of uncertainty about his future.
“A lot has been said about Wayne,” said Moyes. “Rightly so because of how well the boy has played with his assists, goals and all-round team play. He deserves people saying how well he’s doing.
“Maybe, at times, it was not as good for him last year as he wanted it to be, but the boy turned it around with his hard work and dedication and has got himself in a position where he is playing well, scoring regularly and getting the correct recognition for it.”
