Gordon Strachan has pinpointed the key difference between Paul Pogba at Juventus and Manchester United.
The Red Devils star has been criticised in recent months following his subdued performances in the Manchester United team.
The club’s record signing Pogba has struggled as part of a midfield pair alongside Serbia international Nemanja Matic.
Manchester United brought the France international back to Old Trafford in an £89m deal from Serie A giants Juventus in 2016.
Pogba established himself as a key member of the Juve team during his four season spell in Turin, winning four top-flight titles.
However, the 24-year-old hasn’t been able to recreate those explosive performances at Manchester United.
But former Manchester United midfielder Strachan believes he knows what the problem is with Pogba’s game at Old Trafford.
“He doesn’t run as much without the ball as he did at Juventus,” Strachan told Sky Sports.
“Pogba would run players 40 yards and beat them again. That was hard work.
“I see him standing with his back to goal. I’d like to see him running without the ball behind the defence at times.”
The Red Devils signed Pogba in an £89m transfer from Serie A giants Juventus in the 2016 summer transfer window.
Manchester United won the FA Cup and the Europa League last season back at Old Trafford following an £89m move from Serie A giants Juventus.
