Man City will continue to attract the best players, says David Silva
David Silva is confident Manchester City's growing reputation as an elite club will help to attract more star names to Eastlands

David Silva believes Manchester City’s stature as one of Europe’s top clubs will continue to help attract the biggest names to Eastlands.
Silva made a £26m move to City from Valencia in June 2010 and the Spain international has since witnessed an influx of talent at the club, with Roberto Mancini signing Mario Balotelli, Edin Dzeko and Sergio Aguero in the last 12 months.
City’s new recruits have helped propel Mancini’s side to the Premier League’s summit, still two points clear of defending champions Manchester United despite suffering their first defeat of the campaign at Stamford Bridge on Monday.
“We’re up there with the elite now – and this is enabling us to attract winners: players who are hungry for success, who have won things and know how to win things,” Silva told Champions magazine.
“This is fundamental. Maybe it’s what was missing in the past. You see it when you are out on the pitch: we are building a group of players who give their all during a game.
“These players know how to win, must win ““ and accept nothing else. Winners don’t believe in fate like others do. They simply cannot accept defeat.
“We are progressing all the time, the more we achieve, the more we win, the more we are learning how to win, to read games and grown in experience.”
Mancini’s side are the league’s top scorers with an impressive 49 goals – but Silva maintains that City must find a balance between attack and defence if they wish to cement their title credentials.
“We are attacking really well at City, creating loads of goalscoring opportunities, but we’ve got to remain focused on keeping the opposition out,” he added.
“It’s all about improving in attack and defence ““ finding the right equilibrium that will make us even better.”
