Man City’s Jack Rodwell: I’ve not had a chance to prove my ability

Jack Rodwell admits he is frustrated that he hasn’t had the chance to prove his ability at Manchester City this season.
The England international scored an impressive brace as the Citizens suffered a 3-2 loss to Norwich City at the Etihad Stadium on the final day of the season.
Rodwell has been limited to 11 appearances in the Premier League in his first term at the Eastlands outfit after completing a £12m switch from Everton last August.
He spent three months on the sidelines following a hamstring injury in October before returning to action in late February but falling victim to the same problem at Aston Villa.
But the youngster hopes to put his injury woes behind him and kick on next season under a new manager at the Eastlands outfit.
“I am a great believer in my ability but I’ve not had the chance to prove it. I am back for one game after 10 games out and it’s always hard,” said Rodwell.
“You are never match-fit and it’s hard to produce. You need a good run of games.
“It’s just getting games under my belt, getting match fitness and hopefully next season I can do it a bit more.
“I have ended on a good note personally, now I can put my mind to rest and have a fresh start.
“The season has just started for me. I have been back playing for the last few weeks and I just want more.”
