Man United are ‘far better’ than Man City, declares Sir Alex Ferguson
Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United's title triumph demonstrates that his side are far superior to Manchester City

Sir Alex Ferguson believes Manchester United’s title triumph demonstrates that his side are far superior to Manchester City.
The Red Devils secured their 20th top-flight title on Monday night after a 3-0 win over Aston Villa pushed United 16 points clear at the top of the table with four games left to play.
Ferguson watched his side go down 2-1 to City at Old Trafford earlier this month as Roberto Mancini’s men temporarily closed the gap on their rivals.
But although the Scot admits that derbies are usually closely-contested affairs, he feels his side have demonstrated their strength against the Premier League’s other teams.
“In the games between the two sides there has been nothing in it,” Ferguson said.
“But [in] the rest of them we are far better. We’re a far better team than Manchester City at beating other teams and that’s not recognised by him [Mancini].
“When the two teams meet, there’s nothing in it and I agree with him in that respect. But you expect that in a derby game.
“Derby games bring two teams to a level, it doesn’t matter what the levels are, it always brings them together.”
