Pellegrini gives latest Man City injury update ahead of West Ham clash
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini reveals Sergio Agüero is on the brink of a return from a calf injury

Manuel Pellegrini has revealed that Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero is on the brink of a return from a calf injury.
The Argentina international, who has scored 13 top-flight goals this term, has missed six games for the Citizens after picking up the problem in their 6-3 victory over Arsenal in December.
“It is very good news. All players recovering from injuries is good news, especially a player as important as Kun Aguero,” Pellegrini said ahead of City’s League Cup semi-final clash against West Ham United on Wednesday.
Pellegrini also added that the Citizens would only be looking to make “important” signings if the Eastlands outfit enter the January transfer market.
“For the moment, there is no news. Of course if we bring a new player here to City it is because he is a very good player,” Pellegrini added.
“In this squad we have a high level, so if we want to improve we must try to buy an important player.
“It is not our first concern and we are not in a hurry to make a decision. We are just seeing two or three things but nothing important.”
