Matt Le Tissier: Southampton must replace Liverpool target Adam Lallana
Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier says the Saints must replace Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw if the pair leave this summer
Southampton must replace Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw if the pair are sold this summer, according to Matt Le Tissier.
Liverpool are reported to be closing in on a £20m deal for the Saints skipper after the England international impressed with a return of nine goals in 38 Premier League appearances.
If the manager stays and he chooses the right players, we may only get stronger for it

Meanwhile, his Three Lions colleague Shaw is being heavily linked with a £27m switch to Manchester United as the Red Devils attempt to secure a long-term successor to replace ageing Patrice Evra.
And Southampton legend Le Tissier warned the Saints that they will have to spend some of the funds recouped from the pair’s sale if Southampton do decide to cash in on their stars.
“If those boys do end up going, the club will have decent funds to go out and strengthen the side again,” Le Tissier is quoted as saying by TalkSport. “If the manager stays and he chooses the right players, we may only get stronger for it.
“Things change in football, people move on but the club will always go on.
“As long as the board reinvest any money which we may get in for the players that have been talked about then I don’t see that it will be too much of a problem.”
