Ozil, Ramsey and more: Twitter reacts as Arsenal lose to Napoli
Mesut Özil and Aaron Ramsey both tweet their thoughts after Arsenal reach the Champions League last 16 despite 2-0 loss

Arsenal advanced to the last 16 of the Champions League despite a 2-0 defeat by Napoli on Wednesday night.
Second-half goals from Gonzalo Higuain and Jose Maria Callejon sealed victory for the home side but the Gunners still made it through to the knockout phase as Group F runners-up.
Elsewhere, Demba Ba’s first-half winner handed Chelsea a 1-0 win over Steaua Bucharest and sealed their progression as group winners.
A busy night of Champions League football inevitably sparked a flurry of activity on Twitter – and here are our favourite updates, in chronological order.
Injured Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski (@Podolski10) keeps his followers updated: “0:0 after 30 minutes. Nothing is decided in the group yet”
Celebrity Arsenal fan Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) is pleased by the Gunners’ display so far: “Excellent performance from Arsenal so far. Flamini masterminding things superbly. Keep calm lads, carry on. #Afc”
Former Liverpool man Dietmar Hamann (@DietmarHamann) chimes in after Higuain gives the home side the lead: “Oh dear, game on 1-0 Napoli …I hope that wakes Dortmund up”
Sky Sports pundit Chris Kamara (@chris_kammy) feels it will be a tough end to the game for the visitors: “Oh dear Arsenal a goal down & Arteta sent off for hardly anything, a long 15mins now”
Golfer and Arsenal fan Ian Poulter (@IanJamesPoulter) is relieved after the final whistle: “Scraped through… Phew. That was close there for a while.”
Ex-England international Michael Owen (@themichaelowen) delivers his full-time verdict and makes a valid point: “Clean sweep of English teams through to the knockout stage of The Champions League. Spare a thought for Napoli – knocked out with 12 points!”
Arsenal youngster Nico Yennaris (@Nico_Yennaris) looks on the bright side: “Still qualified for the next round that’s all that matters now. #AFC”
Morgan (@piersmorgan) wants to see Arsenal sign a striker in January: “I keep ‘banging on’ about the need for a top striker because Wenger’s showing no sign of thinking we need to buy one. He’s wrong. Not knocking Giroud, he always gives 100%. But we can’t compete at that level without adding a world class striker to the squad. #Afc”
Second-half substitute Aaron Ramsey (@aaronramsey) makes no excuses for the defeat: “A poor performance but we’re through and now can focus on Saturday. Thanks in particular to the fans who travelled out to Italy”
And that just leaves club-record signing Mesut Özil (@MesutOzil1088) to have the final say: “Sometimes a lost game can be like a Victory. Tough game.”
