Mesut Ozil desperate to help Arsenal end trophy drought this season
Mesut Özil underlines his desire to help Arsenal win their first trophy since 2005 this season

Mesut Ozil has underlined his desire to help Arsenal win their first trophy since 2005 this season.
The Germany playmaker has been one of the Gunners’ standout performers since his club-record £42.5m transfer to north London from Real Madrid in the summer.
Arsenal are currently a point clear at the top of the Premier League table as they look to win the English top-flight crown for the first time since their unbeaten triumph in 2003-04.
And although the 25-year-old is determined to improve his game in England, his main goal is to help Arsene Wenger’s men win silverware.
The team deserve to win a trophy and we will do all we can to celebrate with the fans if that happens

“I know what I can do and a footballer always strives for more success,” Ozil told Arsenal Player.
“My aim is to develop and improve my game here – but the most important thing is that we play successful football as a team and that, at the end of the season, we win trophies.
“You have personal goals – you want to remain healthy and want to play successful football. But like I said, the most important thing is to be successful with this team.”
Ozil also paid tribute to the Arsenal faithful following his arrival at Emirates Stadium.
“It’s hugely important,” said Ozil. “Not just for me but for the whole team. You can see in the games, be that home or away, they are always there for us and get behind and support the team fervently for 90 minutes.
“We can show our thanks to them through playing successful and attractive football and by getting good results. The team deserve to win a trophy and we will do all we can to celebrate with the fans if that happens.”
