Mesut Ozil has romped to victory to claim Arsenal’s player of the month award for the third month running.

The Germany playmaker has earned plenty of new admirers this season following a string of brilliant performances for the north London club.

Ozil has already notched up 16 assists in the top flight for Arsenal to help Arsene Wenger’s men to move two points clear at the top of the Premier League table. He has also netted three times in the Premier League.

And the World Cup winner has now made it a hat-trick of Arsenal awards after he was named the club’s player of the month for December ahead of Olivier Giroud and Petr Cech.

Ozil’s third prize was never in doubt, with the former Real Madrid star having won the award with more than 81 per cent of the vote, ahead of Giroud with 9.2 per cent and Cech with 6.4 per cent.
