Mesut Ozil: I’m not scared of the pressure at Arsenal

Mesut Ozil insists that he is not fazed by the pressure at Arsenal as they bid to end their eight-year wait for a trophy.
The Gunners, who are currently four points clear at the top of the Premier League, have not claimed any major silverware since their FA Cup final triumph over Manchester United back in 2005.
Ozil’s arrival in north London for a club-record £42.5m from Real Madrid in the summer has been credited as one of the driving factors behind Arsenal’s flying start to the season.
And the Germany playmaker insists that he is well-equipped to deal with the pressure that comes with playing for a team such as the Gunners after three years at the Bernabeu.
“I’ve played for Real Madrid, where the pressure is so huge because you have to go and really win absolutely every game,” Ozil told the Daily Mirror.
“So after having played there for three years, pressure doesn’t scare me. That’s why I don’t really feel the pressure. The second thing is that what I do on a daily basis is what I love.
“I love playing football so I go out to play football and I don’t really feel pressure.
“Of course, there are some days when things don’t work out as well as on other days but that doesn’t have anything to do with pressure.”
