Mesut Ozil admits that he finds it sad when he is singled out for criticism if Arsenal are not preforming well.
The north London side have come in for plenty of criticism in recent weeks due to their dramatic drop in form in all competitions.
Arsenal have dropped down into sixth place in the Premier League table after a disastrous run of form in the top flight.
The Gunners have also been knocked out of the Champions League following a humiliating 10-2 aggregate defeat by Bayern Munich.
Ozil has often come in for criticism for his performances when Arsenal have failed to perform, and the playmaker admits he is saddened whenever that happens.
Speaking to German newspaper Sportbild, Ozil said: “People know what I have achieved, that I am a World Cup winner, played for Real Madrid, set up 20 goals last season [in all competitions].
“When the team’s on a bad run, somebody needs to be singled out, sadly most of the time it’s me.”

Ozil will be hoping to feature for Arsenal when the north London side return to Premier League action on Sunday with a crunch clash against Manchester City at The Emirates.
The north London side head into the game in sixth place in the Premier League table as they look to claw their way back into the top four.
