Mesut Ozil has quashed suggestions that Arsene Wenger could be planning for life without the German playmaker at Arsenal.

Ozil’s future has been a source of relentless speculation in recent weeks, with his current contract set to expire at the end of next season.

However, the Germany international has dismissed suggestions that Wenger could be planning for life without him at Arsenal.

Asked by German news outlet Die Welt about the possibility of Wenger planning for life without him, Ozil replied: You think Wenger speaks to journalists before he tells me?

“Then I know him differently.”
