Mesut Ozil has declared his determination to return to action as soon as possible as the Arsenal playmaker continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.

The 25-year-old has not featured for the Gunners since suffering the problem during the first half of Arsenal’s 1-1 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich last month.

Arsene Wenger on Thursday revealed that Ozil is not likely to be ready in time for Arsenal’s FA Cup semi-final against Wigan at Wembley on 12 April.

And Ozil posted on Facebook: “Dear fans, I can assure you that I’m doing my best to return to the pitch as soon as possible. but in the end, only two things matter: to have confidence in yourself and to be patient! ‪#‎coyg‬”

Speaking ahead of Arsenal’s trip to Everton on Sunday, Wenger said: “The other injured players are not back, not [Jack] Wilshere, not Özil. Everybody else is alright.

“The FA Cup [semi-final against Wigan] will be too soon for [Özil], but he will hopefully be back soon after that.”

Ozil has made 22 Premier League appearances for Arsenal this season, scoring four goals and making eight assists.
