Michael Carrick insists that he and his Manchester United team-mates are ignoring their critics after Wednesday’s goalless draw at Arsenal.
The Red Devils produced a solid defensive display to keep the Gunners at bay at Emirates Stadium and earn a point.
I thought we did a good job – not just us in midfield but as a unit, really

United’s midfield has been criticised by some this season following the defending champions’ stuttering form under David Moyes.
But Carrick is not paying any attention to his detractors and was pleased by United’s overall display in north London.
“We get stick all the time anyway but we’re used to it,” Carrick told United’s website. “I thought we did a good job – not just us in midfield but as a unit, really.
“From the front, Robin [van Persie] and Wayne [Rooney] took up good positions and helped us out, while we helped the defenders out from midfield. We limited their space around the box and they didn’t create many chances.
“You could see towards the end their fans were getting frustrated and that’s when I thought that maybe we might nick a goal and make it a fantastic night.”
